    Library

    The library has a collection of 6184 books as per Accession Register including 500 Books in Hindi, 450 books in English, 320 Hindi textbooks, and 300 English textbooks. There are 430 reference books, 290 fiction books, and around 260 non-fiction books in Hindi and English. The Library subscribes 8 periodicals and 4 newspapers. Other resources include previous years’ CBSE Exam question papers of X & XII and previous years’ question papers of Class VI-XI. Two Kindle e-readers are kept for reading at the library e-Reading Hub, through which users can access e-books. The library provides internet access to 2 computer systems.

     

    Library automation

    The Library will migrate into e-Granthalaya software soon, as directed by the new KVS Library Guidelines

     

    Issue system/circulation

    The Library follows the automated circulation of books and maintains library book issue cards/registers for students and staff members. A student can borrow a minimum of 2 books for a period of 2 weeks. For the preparation of projects and assignments, more number of books is issued. Staff members can borrow as per their academic needs. In addition to academic books, they can be issued 5 books at a time for a period of one month.

     

    Class libraries

    The class library system is functioning for classes I to V under the charge of Class teachers. The required number of books was selected by the Class Teachers themselves. Books are rotated as per the needs of the class. A class library book issue register is maintained by each class teacher.

     

    Open Access

    The library follows an open access system and the users are free to search and borrow the books of their choice.
